We celebrate diversity and welcome applications from all students!
For undocumented students and their families, pursuing financial aid can be challenging and stressful. At Central Connecticut State University, we hope the information and resources presented below will assist you.
In-State Tuition
In 2015, undocumented students were granted the ability to qualify for in-state tuition at the State’s public institutions of higher education when the Connecticut General Assembly passed House Bill 6844. To qualify, students must demonstrate all of the following:
- The student is a resident of Connecticut.
- The student has attended a minimum of 2 years of high school in Connecticut
- The student has graduated (or received the equivalent of a high school diploma) from a Connecticut high school
- The student is registered or enrolled at a public institution of higher education in Connecticut
- The student has filed an affidavit stating that they have filed an application to legalize their immigration status, or will file such an application as soon as they are eligible to do so.
Non-Central Scholarship Funding
While undocumented students may qualify for both in-state tuition and institutional aid, they do not qualify for state or federal financial aid. Nevertheless, there are a number of scholarship opportunities available, and students are encouraged to seek scholarship opportunities from private sources.
