A Polonian Life by Peter Podbielski

Peter Podbielski graduated from Saint Peter’s University in 1972 with a degree in political science and distinguished himself as an ROTC graduate. He then earned a master’s degree from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. Podbielski served in the US Army for 30 years, achieving the rank of Colonel.
His military career included various staff positions in Europe and Washington, DC, specializing in intelligence and foreign area affairs.

After retiring in 2004, Podbielski worked at Booz Allen Hamilton, focusing on security cooperation efforts.

He also served as a senior analyst at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) and mentored graduate students in Europe and the US. He is a published author on military modernization and transformation.

Two pivotal moments in Podbielski's career were witnessing the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and Poland's entry into NATO in 1999, both of which he experienced in Warsaw. His assignments in Poland allowed him to shape policy, witness progress, and contribute to the country's development.

The event is FREE and open to the public.
