Celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Published:

In a recent statement, Central Police Chief Sean Grant recognized the telecommunications staff at the police department as part of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

"Every year during the second week of April, we honor the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community. Central Connecticut State University has six dispatchers who work at the Central Police Department who function as the first line of communication between the campus community and the first responders. Dispatchers are responsible for aiding the personnel they work with as well as students, staff, and faculty on campus. These telecommunicators work long hours on weekends and holidays, coordinate services, and connect people to necessary resources. These individuals have quality service and safety on the forefront of their minds every day and provide constant service to the community.

"We honor our elite team of telecommunicators: Stephanie Seaburg, Ashley Ferrera, Arnold Corpus, Mary Dougherty, Darren Weidlich, and Daniel Sklanka.

"They make the Police Department and Central Connecticut State University proud and keep us all safe by working tirelessly to provide professional service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
