Central Connecticut State University hosted a public toast on June 26 to celebrate its 175th anniversary with more than 300 members of the Central family.

A crowd of alumni, students, staff, faculty, and friends of the university gathered in front of Lawrence J. Davidson Hall to honor the university’s history and future. As attendees mingled and shared their Central stories, photographers and videographers were among the crowd capturing the authentic connections being created.

Among the guests were New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart ’09, Marty Guay, Central’s newly appointed Board of Regents chair, and Dr. Richard Judd, the university’s 11th president, who attended with his wife, Nancy.

In her remarks, Toro noted, “You are the Central family, and your presence tonight is a testament to the enduring bonds that unite us in celebration. You are why this university is celebrating 175 years — the secret of our success is you and the many ways in which you have supported this university.”
