Central Connecticut State University hosted two outdoor commencement ceremonies on May 13 at Arute Field. More than 2,400 students, including students eligible to graduate in December, participated.

According to the Office of the Registrar, 95.1 percent of this year’s graduating class are Connecticut residents. Beyond Connecticut’s borders, the Class of 2024 represents 23 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, and 10 other countries.

Dr. Peter Rosa ’68, ’74; Lawrence Hall ’89, ’96; and William Wyatt Bosworth ’17 served as speakers at both ceremonies in recognition of the university’s 175th anniversary. Each alumnus represents a different generation of Central’s alumni.

In her remarks to the Class of 2024, Central President Zulma R. Toro said, “Please cherish the gems of knowledge that you have cultivated during your journey at Central. Know that you are part of a rich past and forever a part of the Blue Devil legacy—a legacy of excellence.”
