Central alumnus Stephen Dexter ’07 made his Broadway debut as an understudy in “The Shark is Broken,” a comedy that opened in August at the John Golden Theatre. The play explores the behind-the-scenes drama that took place during the filming of the 1975 film “Jaws.” Dexter served as understudy for three lead actors. The show closed on Nov. 19.
Off-Broadway, Dexter has performed in “Turn Me Loose” (Westside Theatre), “AZAK” (Rattlestick), and “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot” (La Mama). Dexter also toured Japan and the U.S. with the drama "Hikobae,” based on true stories of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
His television credits include recurring roles on “Evil” (CBS/Paramount Plus) and “Living with Yourself” (Netflix) and supporting work on the limited series “Dr. Death” (NBC Peacock) and “Billions” (Showtime). Dexter’s film work includes the award-winning short film “American Morning,”" which he wrote, co-produced, and starred in alongside Emmy-winner Richard Schiff.
