Friedman ’83 shares 'Memoirs of a Modern Slavery Activist'

Matthew Friedman ’83 recently published a new book, “Awakening the Advocate: Memoirs of a Modern Slavery Activist,” released by Penguin Random House.

The new book springs from Friedman’s work as an international human trafficking expert and activist and as the CEO of the Mekong Club, an organization based in Hong Kong that brings together like-minded professionals across different industries to address modern slavery risk.

“Awakening the Advocate” builds off one of Friedman’s previous books, “Where Were You: A Profile of Modern Slavery.” The new book features more than 100 short stories and testimonials that shed light on the topic of modern slavery and share Friedman’s personal journey as an activist.

International sales on Amazon and online other platforms will begin in March. All proceeds will support the fight human against human trafficking. Learn more about the book online at https://www.penguin.sg/book/modern-slavery-and-me/.
