The Latin American, Latino, and Caribbean Center at Central is among 75 recipients of Library of America grants as part of the library’s national initiative celebrating Latino poetry.
The initiative, titled “Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home,” invites participants into a nationwide conversation about Latino poetry.
Each grant of $1,200 will fund the development of at least two free public programs to be held at each grantee’s institution between September 2024 and April 2025. Inspired by the forthcoming “Latino Poetry: The Library of America Anthology,” these events will explore the initiative’s eight core humanities themes and feature poets, scholars, and community leaders.
