Physics Education major is headed to Paris

Abdullah Barlas, a Physics Education major at Central, was selected as one of eight undergraduates nationwide to participate in the Optics in the City of Light Research Experience for Undergraduates this summer.

The Experience program is a partnership with the University of Michigan, in which students spend two months in Paris to conduct research in laboratories equipped with a wide range of ultrafast lasers. Students in this program will experience collaborative science that is currently taking place between University of Michigan, Gérard Mourou Center for Ultrafast Optical Science, University Paris-Saclay, Ecole Polytechnique, Ecole Nationale de Techniques Avancées, Université Paris-Sud 11 Orsay, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, and l’Institut d' Optique Graduate School.
