The Puerto Rican and Latino Caucus of the Connecticut General Assembly hosted the 10 annual Connecticut Latino Legislative Summit on April 23. Following a day of discussions on several issues that affect Latinos in Connecticut, the caucus honored Central President Zulma R. Toro, the university’s first Hispanic and female president.

The summit drew state officials, lawmakers, and community leaders from across Connecticut to the State Capitol. Presentations and panel discussions covered financial equity, home ownership, voter rights, and representation among elected officials, among other topics.
