Students can find a faster route to a Nursing career at Central

The Department of Nursing at Central Connecticut State University is growing in more ways than one.

Not only is Nursing one of the university’s most in-demand programs, the addition of the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program offers a rewarding career in nursing to more students than ever!

The post-graduate ABSN program is open to students who hold a bachelor’s degree in another discipline and have successfully passed certain pre-requisite courses, including Introduction to Biomolecular Science, Anatomy and Physiology, and General Chemistry, among others. Drawing on the prerequisite coursework, ABSN students will focus entirely on nursing courses and clinical practice throughout the 15-month program.

Central’s ABSN program blends 60 credits of classroom, hybrid, and online learning with clinical experiences in a variety of settings. Led by faculty with experience in several Nursing disciplines, Nursing students work in state-of-the-art facilities that include high-fidelity simulation and virtual reality technology. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be eligible and prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).

ABSN classes begin during the Winter Intercession at Central. Registration opens on Oct. 23, and classes begin on Dec. 30. To learn more about admission requirements and enrollment, contact Kerri M.
