President Toro delivered welcome remarks at the 17th annual WTS Connecticut Transportation Mini-Series held in Alumni Hall on Oct. 17. More than 200 professionals across New England attended this signature event organized by the Connecticut Chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar. Central Civil Engineering students also took advantage of this event to learn about advanced topics in transportation and interact with industrial and government professionals.
“The mission of WTS and its guiding principles get to the heart of those we have set for Central as an institution,” Toro noted. “WTS is dedicated to shaping the future of transportation for the public good through the global advancement of women. At Central, equity, inclusion, and workforce development are key considerations in our strategic plan.”
