Methods for the Evaluation of Electric Machines and Power Electronic Systems
Traditionally, electric machines and motor drives are evaluated on a motor dynamometer setup including the test/machine and drive and a load machine. This presentation shows the advantages and drawbacks of this setup and shows some alternative methods of evaluation such as Power Hardware-in-the-Loop. This test setup is extended to power electronics systems such as microgrid or grid with high power electronic content from the motor and drive pair baseline.
