The Department of Athletics will host its annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) event on Saturday, Jan. 25. This FREE event is open to girls from age 4 to 12 and begins at 11:30 a.m., with registration starting at 11 a.m. All participants will receive a free T-shirt and a snack bag.

Central’s female student-athletes will host activity stations to introduce participants to soccer, track and field, volleyball, softball, cheer, dance, and lacrosse, as well as a craft and poster-making station. Attendees are welcome to attend at two Blue Devil sporting events following the clinic: The women's basketball team will host Le Moyne at 1 p.m., while the Blue Devils swimming & diving team hosts Rhode Island at 2 p.m. for its Senior Day meet.
National Girls & Women in Sports Day began in 1987 as a special day in our nation’s capital to recognize women’s sports. The day united premiere organizations and elite women athletes to bring national attention to the promise of girls and women in sports. This celebration inspires girls and women to play and be active, to realize their full power.
