The Northeast Conference announced the Winter Team Sportsmanship Awards for each of the league’s seven winter sports on June 2, and Central earned the honor for women’s indoor track and field. The team last earned the award for its performance during the 2018-19 season.
The women’s indoor track and field team had a historic season, capturing the program’s first conference title since 2001. The Blue Devils’ coaching staff earned Women’s Indoor co-Coaching Staff of the Year and won a total of eight All-Northeast Conference honors in the postseason.
Instituted by league presidents in 2008, the awards are designed to acknowledge the team in each conference sport that, in the opinion of its peers, most closely demonstrates good sportsmanship based on the NEC Principles of Sportsmanship and Standards of Conduct.
