The Village for Families and Children, in partnership with United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut, HRA, and volunteers connect working families with opportunities through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance campaign. Volunteers will prepare and file income tax returns, greet filers, manage appointment schedules, help filers learn how to save, act as translators, etc. Volunteers commit to one, four-hour shift a week, and typically work with one household an hour. No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to help people in the community. Volunteer registration is now open, and volunteering goes from mid-January to mid-April 2023 on sites located throughout Greater Hartford, Windham, or virtually.
