Lunch and Learn - Website migration project and how to help

Published:

As we move into the next phase of our website content migration, Institutional Marketing will host a series of Lunch & Learn events with support from the Web Steering Committee and the Information Technology Committee. Our goal is to ensure the website makes a smooth transition into our new content management system, Acquia.

Each session will begin with a conversation about website content best practices — especially those pertaining to accessibility — and we’ll show you a sneak peek at the new site design and present an overview of the project timeline. We will then have you dive into your website pages and perform a live audit.

The fastest way to get our website ready is to have all content managers look through their portion(s) of the website. Over time, websites become overloaded with obsolete information and repetitive content. This not only makes it more difficult for us to effectively migrate content, but it also makes it difficult for students, faculty, and staff to find accurate information.

The second part of the session will focus on the migration of your web content. If you have any questions about who in your department should attend, please reach out to Christine Moauro at cmoauro@ccsu.edu or Chad Tower at tower@ccsu.edu. We are excited to collaborate with you!
