Playhouse on Park is looking for committee members for several areas. For students considering going into non-profit development, both their Development Committee and our Fundraiser, Events and Activities (FEA) committees are looking for members. Development focuses on how to increase giving both within our current base and by introducing new people to the theater. They also work with our sponsors in creating packages for sponsors and working to find new one. Their FEA committee is looking for members that want to help with fundraising, especially for their annual gala. Members work on the look and feel of the event, get sponsors, auctions items, etc. Committees meet monthly. They also have opportunities on the marketing committee for students studying marketing.
Fitness Class Training (fitnessct.org) is a non-profit that has a run club for kids starting on Feb 26th at 3 p.m. at Conard in West Hartford. It runs for 1 hour for 6 weeks. The kids range from ages 3-13. They will come and run laps and earn charms for each mile that they run. They will also have fitness stations for the older kids where they can do Farmers Carrys, dumbbell movements, drag sleds, swing kettlebells, etc. The club raises money for Dog Star’s Veterans program.
