Volunteer at the Friendship Center

Published:

The Friendship Center, based in New Britain, provides a continuum of services to people at risk of or are experiencing homelessness in Central CT.

The Friendship Center regularly needs groups of volunteers to help with various tasks, such as organizing donations at their shelter in Downtown New Britain or painting the outside of their new Hope Center. This is a great opportunity for student clubs/groups to make connections in the community and get some volunteer hours in! To coordinate a volunteer project, contact Christian Reyes (CCESR) at creyes@ccsu.edu.

If you're looking to volunteer for community service hours or if you are interested in serving your community, we are more than happy to get you started as soon as you fill out this form.

And lastly, the annual Foodshare Walk Against Hunger is right around the corner! On May 20th, we will be participating in the biggest anti-hunger walk in CT to raise money that'll support our underfunded Tomasso Community Kitchen that feeds lunch to an average of 60 community members daily. You can join us in Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford as we walk to spread awareness and raise money to solve the hunger problems many in our community face during these drastic times. And, when you participate in the walk, you can reach out to family and friends for sponsorships by donating to the cause!
