Central was honored recently by the Connecticut Age Well Collaborative with one of four inaugural Wellspring Awards. Central was recognized for its early adoption of the Age-Friendly University Global Network and other important work by Gerontology faculty and students.
The Wellspring Awards are inspired by Connecticut’s wellspring of innovation and inspiration. In addition to using a multi-sector approach, recipients were selected based on their demonstrated community impact and how they integrated the voices of individuals with lived experience into their work.
The award winners were recognized at the State Capitol on April 26 at the Sharing and Celebration Summit to Honor Community Excellence, hosted by the Connecticut Age Well Collaborative and the Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity & Opportunity.
