Jeremy Visone

Jeremy D. Visone (he, him, his) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership & Instructional Technology at Central Connecticut State University. Prior to his work at CCSU, he was a teacher and building administrator in the Newington (CT, USA) Public Schools for 16 years. His leadership experience includes both the secondary and elementary levels, and, most recently (until 2016), he was the proud principal of Anna Reynolds Elementary School, which was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education in 2016. He partners with local school districts, where he facilitates projects such as teacher leadership academies, future educator clubs, and beginning teacher academies. His partnership work allows him to collaborate with teachers and administrators on a regular basis. He also serves as Chair of the CCSU Institutional Review Board, which oversees all University-sponsored research with human subjects. His own research has involved structures for educator collaboration and peer observation, teacher leadership, practices of U.S. National Blue Ribbon Schools, teacher evaluation, and problem-solving skill development for aspiring educational leaders. His recent works include Empowering Teacher Leadership: Strategies and Systems to Realize Your School’s Potential (2022, Routledge) and Teacher Leadership Practice in High-Performing Schools: A Blueprint for Excellence (2025, Routledge).
