Lisette Velasquez

Lisette Velasquez is an experienced advocate for access to quality educational opportunities for students with economical and social barriers. As a first-generation graduate of Hartford College for Women and the University of Hartford-Hartt School, Lisette understands the value of formal education and the need for education reform at all levels. As the Project Director of TRiO Educational Talent Search, Lisette is committed to the students in New Britain who are considering higher education, are first-generation students, and require guidance in navigating the educational systems. As a former newspaper reporter, parent-school liaison, marketing/membership coordinator, and program director, she continues to utilize connections and resources to strengthen students' academic and professional goals to meet industry and community needs. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Counseling at Central Connecticut State University.
