Biography

Michael Russo, Psy.D. (Department Director) is a clinical psychologist with over 35 years of experience, including 25 years of supervisory and administrative experience. He has a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and is licensed in the State of Connecticut. Prior to coming to Central, he worked in community mental health where he gained expertise in the areas of clinical intervention for at-risk students, multi-disciplinary special education services, clinical supervision, and mental health program development. He has worked extensively with young adults, adolescents, children, and families from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Russo values interdisciplinary collaboration and believes that a whole person approach to enhancing student mental health is critical to ensure that students from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs succeed in college.
