Ying Chen is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Central Connecticut State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning, a Master's in Accounting (MSA), and a Master’s in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University. She is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). She is passionate about teaching, research, and community services. She teaches financial planning, retirement planning, estate planning, and financial modeling & analytics, etc. She served as a VITA volunteer, assisting individuals/families in filing tax returns. Her research interest focuses on households’ financial behavior, fintech adoption in financial planning, financial behaviors, emotions, personality traits, mental health, and the psychology of financial planning.
