Central to Connecting with Your Target Audience.

Use your Central MS in Strategic Communication to become a leader in today’s complex communication field. Evaluate, develop, shape, and change the communication environment and styles within and between organizations. Target new and evolving audiences through a variety of tactics. Understand and practice sound and ethical reasoning.

Program Options

Learn about the flow of information within an organization. Discover how to successfully apply problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation strategies in complex relational situations within organizations.

Manage credibility. Learn practical lessons in public relations case studies, social media, and mass communication writing. Master the ability to raise awareness, change attitudes, and bring about desired behavior from the public.

The Central Strategic Communication graduate program really enhanced my overall skill set in the media industry. It offered me the opportunity to apply new skills to my everyday job at ESPN while also learning about different aspects of PR and leadership within an organization. Learning Outcomes

  1. Understand communication processes, internal and external, of an organization.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to write appropriately in both academic and professional settings.
  3. Employ research methods in the diagnosis of communication problems within organizations and between organizations and their target audiences, including those resulting from intercultural differences.
  4. Apply problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation strategies in complex relational situations within organizations.
  5. Examine the use and impact of information, communication, and new media technologies in the design and evaluation of public relations, strategic communication campaigns, and other organizational applications.
