Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg

Freiburg, Germany

Partner University Website

Description

With both unsurpassed beauty and one of the warmest climates in Germany, the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg is located in a picturesque valley on the western border of the Black Forest. Founded in 1457, it is the second oldest university in Germany and is filled with historic sights. Students may enroll directly with German students and follow courses in the liberal arts or participate in a robust program of German language instruction. Learn the German language while speaking and exploring Germany first hand, not just reading about it in a book like you would back home.

Looking for fun weekend adventures? Numerous leisure activities can be found in the city itself or in nearby Alsace and Switzerland. Never do the same activity twice with all the options this University offers! Freiburg offers many DAAD scholarships to its current and exchange students, students are encouraged to check out the school's website to see how they can make this trip to Germany even more possible.

Academic Subjects

Biology, Business, Computer Science, Earth Science, Economics, English, Geography, German Language and Culture, History, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Sociology

Students may follow an intensive language course (20 hours per week) in the Deutsch als Fremdsprache program (DaF) during their first semester.

Housing

Students will be housed in a student dormitory. Dormitory room reservations will be made by the international office or Auslandsamt of the host university.
