Announcing the Office of Professional Education

Published:

Central’s Office of Continuing Education has been officially renamed the Office of Professional Education (OPE). The office’s continued goal is to create accessible, flexible, and relevant learning pathways for individuals at every stage of their careers.

OPE’s mission is to bridge the gap between current educational offerings and the practical, in-demand skills needed in today’s workforce. The office will continue to collaborate with industry leaders, Central faculty and staff, and students to ensure that OPE’s programs are forward-thinking and aligned with workforce needs.

As part of this new direction, OPE welcomes the opportunity to engage with more faculty and staff. OPE also is pursuing NECHE accreditation for all the non-credit classes that it currently offers. Central is the only university in Connecticut with this designation.

OPE also will offer a tiered discount structure: 10 percent for alumni and 20 percent for current Central graduate and undergraduate students.
