Nominations are now open for the Bradley M. Waite Research Award. Please consider nominating a faculty member for the award, which is presented annually to a Central faculty member in recognition of outstanding contributions in the fields of research with human subjects and research compliance. This award was established to celebrate excellence in research with human subjects, service in research compliance administration, and instruction in the conduct of ethical research.
This award is named for Dr. Bradley M. Waite, faculty member in the Psychological Science Department who served as the chair of the Institutional Review Board (formally known as the Human Studies Council) for more than 25 years. During his tenure, Dr. Waite was the campus authority in all areas involving research with human subjects and personally reviewed thousands of research protocols for faculty, staff, and students. Dr. Waite’s extraordinary contributions in building the foundation for the culture of compliance inform all of human subject research efforts at Central.
To make a nomination, submit a statement of up to 500 words describing how the nominee has demonstrated excellence in research with human subjects and research compliance. Nominations can be made by faculty and staff, and self-nominations are also acceptable. Nomination statements must be e-mailed by noon on Monday, April 1, to Sue Malley at malleys@ccsu.edu/.
The award winner will be notified in advance and the award will be presented at the Faculty Day and Excellence in Teaching Award Ceremony on Friday, May 3.
