Mission Statement
To maintain a safe and healthy environment for the Central community, including students, faculty, staff and neighboring residents. To develop University policies and procedures necessary to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, and assist in future environmental programs. This will be accomplished by involvement in campus projects, activities, and programs.
Goal
To ensure the protection of human health and environmental quality and the lives and property of the University community through education, training, and inspection of processes and equipment. To interface with regulatory agencies to provide a safe and healthy environment and to assist the Central community in meeting its educational mission.
Responsibility
To provide environmental health and safety training, education and assistance to the campus community. To develop policies and procedures as needed to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and assist in future environmental programs. Promote Environmental Sustainability to reduce Central’s footprint on the natural systems surrounding the campus.
