
Guest speaker Dr. Aurora Santiago Ortiz will present “Decolonial Feminist Responses to Displacement in Puerto Rico,” an exploration of the intersections of gender, colonialism, and migration with a focus on the resilience and activism of displaced communities in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Santiago Ortiz is an assistant professor of Gender and Women’s Studies and Chicane/Latine Studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her research focuses on antiracist feminisms, decolonial perspectives, and participatory action research, and her work has been published in the Michigan Journal for Community Service Learning, the Italian Journal of Urban Studies, Curriculum Inquiry, the International Journal of Qualitative Methods, Centro Journal, Anthropology and Education Quarterly, and the Chicana/Latina Studies Journal.
