Bicycle operators are reminded that while riding on roads or highways they are to keep to the right side of the roadway and that they are subject to the same traffic regulations governing the operation of vehicles (e.g.: stop signs, traffic lights, and one way street designations).
No person shall ride or operate bicycles upon properties owned, leased, or occupied by Central Connecticut State University, except in a prudent and careful manner, with reasonable regard for the safety of the operator and other persons.
During winter storms (November 1st through April 15th) all vehicles must be removed from surface parking lots, as well as from the top levels of the parking garages for plowing and/or sanding. Vehicles not removed will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. Individual notifications are not guaranteed. Copernicus/Student Center/Welte parking garages should be utilized as much as possible. Be aware of the weather and any approaching storms at all times and plan your parking accordingly.
With the exception of animals used to aid persons with disabilities, animals used in University laboratories, and fish in residence hall rooms, animals are prohibited in campus buildings. There are No Pets Allowed at any Central Connecticut State University Facility.
The care and safeguarding of all Central Connecticut State University property is the responsibility of every person on campus. The following policies are mandated by the State and administered by the Central Property Control Office.
Inventory is tagged with a barcoded inventory label and maintained on the Central inventory system.
The Property Control Office will request Department Heads to appoint a staff or faculty member as the department liaison. Liaisons will provide access to all department areas during physical inventories, report any changes of assets in their department, and serve as a source of information regarding the Property Control Policy for all faculty and staff.
A full physical inventory of the University will be performed at least once per year. The results of the inventory will be reconciled at the department level and reported to the President, Department’s Vice President, State Comptroller, and Auditors of Public Accounts.
No person shall ride or operate rollerblades or roller skates upon properties owned, leased, or occupied by Central Connecticut State University, except in a prudent and careful manner, with reasonable regard for the safety of the operator and other persons. Rollerblading and roller skating is specifically prohibited within the parking garages of the University.

In keeping with the University's goal to provide a safe and healthy work environment, and in conformance with Connecticut General Statute 31-40q(d), smoking is prohibited everywhere on the campus--other than in five designated areas. Those are: Kaiser Parking Lot, and the four smoking shelters which are located in front of Barrows Hall, near Sheridan Hall, behind Copernicus Hall, and between the Student Center and Welte; please see the map below. This policy applies to students, employees, contractors, and campus visitors.
Please note: Regardless of the University's decisions to be open or closed, it is ultimately up to each individual to decide if conditions are safe enough for travel. Campus closings and delayed openings impact a large and diverse group of people; some 2,000 students live on campus and perhaps as many as another 1,500 live within a mile or two, while the rest, along with faculty and staff, commute from various distances over many roads in vehicles with a variety of weather-responsive features. Clearly, not every individual's situation can be taken into account. So only you can determine whether it is safe enough for you to travel. Based on your personal assessment of the weather conditions we ask that you plan accordingly.
