The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is the federally mandated body established to protect human participants in research conducted by Central faculty, students, and staff. The role of the IRB is to facilitate, review, and approve university-sponsored research to ensure that the rights and welfare of human participants are protected.

The IRB Administrative Team and the IRB members serve the campus community under the direction of Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
