Desktop Engineering University Assistant (Graduate Level students - undergraduate students are not eligible until they graduate)
Hours: 19 hours per week (no benefits) schedule to be determined between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities: Provides computer hardware and software support to the University. Duties include problem diagnosis and support for client and server systems used to manage the desktop environment; troubleshooting and repairing software installations for computers and their configurations as well as identifying trends. Assists in documentation creation for Desktop Engineering processes, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications: Knowledge of industry-standard Desktop management tools including SCCM, JAMF, and Software Packaging Utilities. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft and Apple operating systems including Windows 10, macOS Catalina as well as Office 365. Ability to work well with others and follow the job through to completion. Strong customer service skills required. Must be self-starting, project oriented, and organized. Experience with tracking software such as HSM, and Microsoft certifications a plus.
Technical Support University Assistant (Graduate Level students - undergraduate students are not eligible until they graduate)
Hours: 19 hours per week (no benefits), schedule to be determined between the hours of Mon-Thurs 7:30a-8p, Fri 7:30a-4p (weekend hours possible)
Responsibilities: Provide technology support for computers, the campus network and various supported system applications for the campus community; assist with technical support operations, including: trouble identification and resolution, follow-up, data entry, documentation of problems and procedures, utilization of help desk software, and dispatching services when necessary.
Qualifications: General technical knowledge, including knowledge of Microsoft products (recent versions of Office and Windows). Knowledge of current web browsers and mobile devices. Ability to work well with others and follow the job through to completion. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Experience in a technical or business-related area in a help desk or customer service preferred.
PC/Apple Technician - OnSite Support Full Time Co-Op/Internship
Hours: 35 hours per week schedule to be determined between the hours of 8 AM and 6 PM Monday-Friday. Must be approved by Career Services.
Responsibilities: Provides computer hardware, software and printer support to the University. Duties include the installation and maintenance of new computers and printers; troubleshooting and repairing computers and peripherals; and network configuration set-up. Software troubleshooting and configuration of Mac OSX, Windows 10 and Office 365. Install and repair of Google Chrome boxes.
Qualifications: Knowledge of PC and /or Apple hardware and related peripherals, including printers. Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office. Apple experience a plus. Ability to work well with others and follow the job through to completion. Strong customer service skills required. Must be self-starting, project-oriented and organized. Microsoft, A+ and Network+ certifications are a plus.
Apple Computer Technician - OnSite Support Student Worker
Hours: 20 hours per week during semesters, up to 35 hours per week during Breaks
Responsibilities and Qualifications: Provides Macintosh technical support to the University. Duties include but are not limited to; diagnosing and performing routine repairs and upgrades on Macintosh computers, classroom repair and maintenance checks, knowledge of Macintosh computers, operating systems, applications, hardware and related peripherals is required. Ability to work well with others and follow the job through to completion. Strong customer service and communication skills also required.
