Biography

Dr. Jill Bassett- Cameron serves as the Senior Equity & Inclusion Officer/Title IX Coordinator for the Office for Equity & Inclusion at Central. She is responsible for managing sexual violence and discrimination cases for all students and employees. She has been in higher education for over 22 years with roles including, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Quinnipiac University, CT, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Retention at Franklin Pierce University, NH, at the University of Bridgeport, CT the Department of Higher Education, CT and Southern CT State University. Jill’s certifications include LGBTQ+ Safe Zones Trainor, Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor, and Title IX and Civil Rights Investigation Officer. 

Jill has been published with ATIXA, Association of Title IX Administrators, and ACUHO-I, the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International regarding her research on Vicarious Trauma. Additionally, she has presented at numerous conferences including at NASPA, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, ASCA Association of Student Conduct Administration, and ACPA, American College Personnel Association and has provided her workshops to numerous organizations and institutions

She is a transformational thought leader who has won several awards including the 2024 Emerging Leader Award, ACE CT Women in Higher Education & the 2018 Outstanding Women of New Hampshire Award. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English & Master of Arts in Women’s Studies from Southern CT State University, CT and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education from New England College, NH.
