Central Connecticut State University’s, School of Business has partnered with Ivy Software to launch the Foundations in Business: Pre-MBA Pathway. This program is an online, self-paced, non-credit, accelerated program designed to bridge the gap for aspiring MBA students. This program is tailored for individuals who are either considering an MBA or seeking to strengthen their foundational business knowledge. This pathway offers a deep dive into core business concepts. Participants will engage in practical learning experiences that build critical skills in accounting, finance, statistics, management, marketing, and business law, preparing them to excel in the 30 credit MBA program. Program Options

Learn about theoretical and conceptual accounting frameworks as you become an expert in financial reporting and using accounting information to manage organizations and investments. Develop leadership skills in public, corporate, and/or governmental accounting.

Data-based decision making is key to success in today’s business environment. Cultivate an understanding of the importance of data, develop new techniques in data management, and learn predictive modeling, forecasting and cluster analysis. Master the ability to leverage information to transform businesses.

Attain the analytical, theoretical, and practical skills required to excel as a leader in finance. Acquire a deep understanding of finance-related concepts and applications. Explore innovative ideas and methods in analytics and valuation, capital markets, banking, and international finance.

Work with your program advisor to choose 9 credits from your approved track’s courses, Independent Study (BUS 594), and Special Topics (BUS 598) courses to suit your specific professional and educational needs.

Learn and apply advanced strategic management and leadership. Both emerging professionals and experienced managers will gain the knowledge and skills (such as data-driven decision making, organizational processes, and human resources) needed for B-suite & C-suite executive positions.

Gain an advanced understanding of theory and best practices in marketing. Coursework prepares students for leadership roles, especially in research, digital marketing, marketing analytics, and strategy. Students in this track will be prepared for careers across a broad range of businesses.

Students will learn to apply advanced business principles to problems in supply chain processes. This interdisciplinary track combines strategic management theories with knowledge in supply chain strategy, distribution and warehousing, and quality improvement.

Learn industry-specific knowledge and develop skills to become a leader in sports management. Coursework prepares students to take leadership roles in managerial, financial, marketing, and analytics areas within the sports industry.
