Admission Requirements

Applying for Admission

For consideration, applicants must submit the following:

1. A completed online application with supplemental materials (ccsu.edu/apply):

   • Essay of 500-1,000 words focusing on academic and work history, reasons for pursuing degree, where and how prerequisite courses were completed
   • Letter of recommendation from either an academic or work source
   • $50 application fee
2. Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (GPA of 3.00 or higher)
   • Applicants with a GPA of at least 2.40 may be considered for conditional admission Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.00 on all post-baccalaureate coursework
   • Applicants are expected to have completed one semester of statistics (such as  STAT 104,  STAT 200, or  STAT 215) with grade of B or better, or permission of the Data Science Program Coordinator
