Central to Keeping the Public Informed.
Central’s BA in Journalism prepares students for journalism, social media, and media relations positions across industries, government, and nonprofit organizations. Students graduate into area newsrooms, have won prestigious opportunities such as the Dow Jones News Fund Fellowship, and win annual awards like the state Society of Professional Journalists Excellence Awards. They develop skills they carry throughout life. Active reporting trips give students opportunities to build portfolios with reports from Cuba, the UK, Ireland and Northern Ireland, Italy, China, and France.
Students from other majors can build multimedia skills and develop an understanding of the importance of the First Amendment for democracy.
