Official Certificate Program in Public Relations/Promotions

Central to Creating Meaningful Conversation.

Central’s Public Relations/Promotions Official Certificate Program (OCP) provides college graduates with an advanced study of public relations, also known as the management of credibility. Students will examine case studies, learn about public relations theories, and hone their writing ability.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Understand communication processes, internal and external, of an organization.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to write appropriately in both academic and professional settings.
  3. Employ research methods in the diagnosis of communication problems within organizations and between organizations and their target audiences, including those resulting from intercultural differences.
  4. Apply problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation strategies in complex relational situations within organizations.
  5. Examine the use and impact of information, communication, and new media technologies in the design and evaluation of public relations, strategic communication campaigns, and other organizational applications.
  6. Develop and practice sound and ethical reasoning.
