A large component of the CCSU TRIO programs is our 5-week long Summer Academy. This is an opportunity for incoming freshman to experience a glimpse of college. During this experience, students are able to enroll in college courses, reside in the dormitories, network with staff and faculty, participate in meaningful workshops centered around learning and mental health, while also interacting with Peer Mentors. Many of our past participants take tremendous value in what they have learned during their experiences throughout their 5 weeks and utilize their new skills during their tenure on campus.
Summer Academy Outcomes
- Learn how to navigate CCSU
- Earn college credit
- Participate in Mental Health and Academic Workshops
- Build a second family and support system on campus
Program is anticipated to start June 23, 2025 and is for incoming freshman. Applications open March 2025.
