The Central Community Health Education Clinic has the equipment and facilities necessary to conduct various screenings and deliver quality health education to the New Britain community, while also providing Central students the hands-on experience they need to succeed in their future careers.Â
The clinic houses four specialized medical rooms designed to address a spectrum of community health needs encompassing the areas of Nursing, Social Work and Family Counseling, as well as Athletic and Exercise Science.
Social Work & Family Counseling Room
The Social Work & Family Counseling Room serves as a dedicated space for Social Work students, where both students and faculty collaboratively offer care coordination and referral services to members of the public to address their healthcare needs in partnership with Nursing and corresponding departments.
Nursing Room
In this space, Nursing students, under the attentive guidance of faculty, conduct free health screenings for members of the public.Â
Athletic & Exercise Science Room
In the Athletic & Exercise Science Room, students specializing in Exercise Science and Athletic Training, under faculty supervision, conduct physical fitness screenings to measure fitness levels of members of the public. These screenings not only gauge individual fitness levels, but also serve as a platform for providing education about how to improve overall physical well-being.Â
Multipurpose Room
This room serves as a versatile space open to all disciplines, offering a flexible environment that is used to carry out any of the clinic’s offered services.
Conference Room
In addition to the four medical rooms, the clinic houses a conference room that can accommodate larger groups for educational purposes such as meetings, seminars, and presentations.
