The Helping Hands Fund provides financial assistance to support or provide access to a student's basic needs. This fund is for an emergency situation that can be supported or resolved with one-time financial support. The Helping Hands Funding Application is typically reviewed within 7-10 business days.
Students may only apply for emergency funding one time during their time as a student at Central.
Types of Requests
Requests can be made for basic needs (food/housing), transportation, or textbook costs.
Amount
Requests cannot exceed $500.
Eligibility
- Currently enrolled, full-time, degree-seeking student
- Be in "good standing" with a GPA above a 2.0
- Have an immediate, basic needs hardship resulting from unanticipated circumstances or life events
- Other resources have been exhausted:
- Additional financial aid packages (unaccepted student loans)
- Payment plans for bills
- Assistance from family, friends, or community resources
- Credit cards
Documentation
All requests must include relevant supporting documentation that is verification of the amount requested. Examples of supporting documentation:
