The Theatre Department presents "True West," a dark comedy by Sam Shepard set in 1980 in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. This play is part of his Family Trilogy of plays that take a realistic look at the American family.
Estranged brothers Austin (a successful screenwriter) and Lee (a desert-dwelling drifter) face off when a Hollywood producer drops his client Austin’s love story script in favor or Lee’s "true" American Western. The brothers are forced to face off and wrestle with the duality of art and human nature.
Additional performances will run from March 27 to 30 at Torp Theater. Get tickets here. A preordered ticket is required for the free preview.
