Join us for Elihu Burritt Library’s Human Library, an in-person event designed to challenge stereotypes and prejudice through open dialogue with real people. Instead of paperback books or e-books, real people are on loan for conversations about their diverse backgrounds. We will have several Human books available for attendees to "check out" for 30-minute conversations at 12:30 p.m. and at 1:15 p.m. (Please arrive a little early to make your selections.)
What to expect
Students, Faculty, and Staff: Stop at the lending table where you will learn from librarians what Human books are available. Once you have chosen which human book you would like to talk to, you can sit down at an assigned table and have a conversation where questions are welcome, appreciated, and answered by the Human books.
Some book topics can include religion, mental health, race and ethnicity, paranormal investigation, LGBTQ issues, and immigration.
