Willard-DiLoreto Renovation

Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Central Connecticut State University’s incoming President Zulma Toro joined CSCU President Mark Ojakian and DAS Deputy Commissioner Pasquale Salemi for the groundbreaking of the Willard-DiLoreto renovation and expansion project on Wed., November 9.

The $62 million project involves gutting and renovating two, 50-year-old adjacent buildings and adding a 30,000 square foot addition connecting the two buildings on all four floors. Technology upgrades, HVAC improvements, and an ADA accessible elevator will be installed. The new section will add some 20 classrooms and several offices while creating an atrium for use as common space.

When completed the building will provide a “one-stop shop” for student services, including registration, financial aid, bursar’s office and a range of student support services such as Student Wellness Services and The Learning Center, providing students with seamless access to all the services and support that students need for academic success.

The project is part of the CSUS 2020 long-term capital improvement initiative.
