Minor Program

Latino and Puerto Rican Studies is a new Minor Program at Central Connecticut State University that prepares students with interdisciplinary knowledge and practical understanding of the social, economic, historical, and cultural conditions and impact of Latinos/as in the U.S. Students gain insight into cultural issues as well as knowledge of the historical significance of Latinos and Latinos in the U.S. Through a program that emphasizes interdisciplinary knowledge and methodologies, students also develop analytical and research skills that allow for deeper understanding of key concerns within the emerging multicultural landscape of the United States. Latino Studies Minors will be able to demonstrate competency and a deep knowledge base in diversity issues and other areas important to the changing demographics and character of the nation.
