
Q: If I went to Central as an undergraduate, will I need to request to have those transcripts sent to graduate admissions?
A: No. Graduate admissions will be able to get your transcripts.
Q: What materials should I submit with my application?
A: In addition to having transcripts sent to graduate admissions, you should also email a copy of your resume to mba@ccsu.edu. In that email, please indicate the specialization in which you are most interested.
Q: Do I have to take the GMAT or GRE?
A: If you have a GPA below 3.2 or do not have at least five years of relevant, high-level (i.e., management or executive) work experience, you will be required to take the GMAT or the GRE.
Q: What score do I need on my GMAT or GRE?
A: Central uses an internal formula that includes your GPA and the GMAT or GRE scores. In other words, your minimum score will depend on your previous academic performance.
Q: What is a “hybrid” or “blended” class delivery system?
A: A hybrid or blended delivery system means you will be taking your courses roughly half the time on site and half the time online. So, if you have a class that “meets” twice a week, one of those meeting times will be in the classroom and the other meeting time will be online.
Q: Is the MBA @ Central a full-time program?
A: No. The MBA @ Central is a part-time program. Students take a maximum of two classes per semester.
Q: I travel a lot for my job – will I be able to miss classes?
A: Generally, we recommend not missing any classes. However, certain circumstances are unavoidable. If you know you are going to potentially miss a class, it is your responsibility to inform your professor and make arrangements well in advance.
Q: What classes will I be required to take?
A: You will take both foundation and core classes in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Marketing, and Management. You will specialize in either Business Analytics, Accounting, or a combination of the two which we call the “Central Track.”
Q: How many credits is MBA @ Central?
A: It depends. Students with a major in business or a related field from an accredited institution will only be required 30 credits. Others will be required to take some foundation courses to help them acclimate to the program. The maximum number of credits a student would need to take is 54.
Q: How long will it take me to graduate?
A: It depends. Many of our students will finish in about two years. Others have decided to go at their own pace because of family and work commitments. We support what’s best for you!
Q: I come from the social sciences – will I have to take additional classes before I start my MBA?
A: We accept students from all academic and professional backgrounds. We have foundation courses that provide students the necessary business background they need to complete their MBA successfully.
Q: How much does it cost to apply?
A: There is a one time, non-refundable application fee of $50
Q: I am currently at another university but want to transfer – will any of my graduate credits transfer?
A: The Graduate School accepts up to 9 transfer credits from other institutions. If you wish to transfer credits, please be prepared to share a syllabus with us to help us make decisions about whether your credits transfer.

Q: IS the MBA@Central an accredited program?
A: Yes. Central has AACSB accreditation which represents a high achievement for a School of Business. About 5% of all of the world’s business programs have earned this accreditation.
