Sixth-Year Certificate in Educational Leadership

Central to Impacting Educational Change.

Central’s Sixth-Year Certificate in Educational Leadership prepares you to play an influential role as an administrator in a public or private school organization. A concentration in Special Education is available for those interested in special education administration.

Completing this program makes you eligible for certification as an intermediate administrator/ supervisor. Become a department chair, assistant principal, principal, or assistant superintendent.

-Virtual Information Sessions-

Preparing educators for leadership roles and administrative positions

Learn about the Central program leading to the CT Administrator Endorsement (092). 
Virtual Information Sessions will be held:

Tuesday, February 4, 4:00 p.m.Wednesday February 12, 4:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 20, 4:00 p.m. 

Program Overview:

  • Option to start the program in either late spring (May/June) or fall (September)
  • 30 credit program (12 courses) completed in 2 years, with accelerated option for those holding an advance degree (beyond Masters), pursuing only the 092 endorsement.
  •  Course flexibly offered in diverse delivery formats and tailored experiences
  •  Administrative internship (typically in your own school/district) under the supervision of a local mentor and university supervisor
  •  Offers an option for alternative concentration of courses in special education leadership
  • Potential for a cohort model, with a majority of our program offered at specified district or regional location (same program designed to fit group needs)
  • With 6-credit hours per semester (fall/spring) there is the option for federal financial aid
  • Recent graduates have gone on to take positions as: principals, asst. principals, instructional coaches, department chairs, directors of curriculum and instruction, directors of special education and pupil personnel services, directors of DEI, and professional learning coordinators, to name a few.
  •  Pathways from the SYC to earning an EdD exist for those interested
