Applying for Admission
Application deadlines:
Fall admission - June 15
Spring admission - November 1
Summer admission - March 15.
For consideration, applicants must submit the following:
- A completed online application with supplemental materials (ccsu.edu/apply):
- Proof of a minimum of 3 years teaching experience (For Special Education concentration, applicants must have special education teaching or related pupil services experience)
- Proof of possession of, or eligibility for, a Connecticut teaching certificate (Students without the certificate must pass the Praxis I)
- Two letters of recommendation from school administrators
- Essay about:
- Reason for pursuing this certificate
- Future career goals
- Interview with program faculty
- $50 application fee
- Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (GPA of 3.00 or higher required on postbaccalaureate work)
- Master’s degree
- Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.00 on all post-baccalaureate coursework
