Student Activities & Leadership Development at Central is a department dedicated to enhancing the overall student experience by providing opportunities for involvement, leadership development, and personal growth outside the classroom.

Central offers a wide range of student organizations, including academic clubs, cultural organizations, sports clubs, and more. If you have a passion or interest that is not represented by existing student organizations, you can start your own! Visit the Student Activities office for guidance or start the process online by logging on to Club Central and visiting forms page here: https://clubcentral.ccsu.edu/forms 

Next click on the form titled New Club - Interest Form.  Fill this out to the best of your ability and someone from SA/LD will reach out with next steps.

Absolutely! We encourage freshmen to explore and get involved early in their college experience. It's a great way to make new friends, build a support network, and make the most of your time at Central.

Participating in student activities can enhance your college experience by providing opportunities for personal and professional development, fostering new friendships, feeling connected to the university, and creating lasting memories. Also, contributing & enriching the University with one’s time & talents.  It also looks great on your resume!

Yes, many student organizations have leadership positions such as president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. Serving in these roles allows you to further develop your leadership skills and contribute to the success of the organization.

Absolutely! Commuter students are strongly encouraged to participate in Student Activities. We understand the unique challenges faced by commuter students, and we strive to make our activities accessible to all. Many events and meetings are scheduled at various times to accommodate different schedules.

Commuter students can stay involved by joining student organizations, attending events, and participating in leadership development programs. Absolutely! Commuter students are eligible and encouraged to take on leadership roles within student organizations. We value the diverse perspectives and experiences that commuter students bring to the table and believe they make valuable contributions to the campus community.
