Student-led journalism, media, and mass communication opportunities connect students with the campus and the world around them. There are three predominant student media organizations supported by the department of Student Activities & Leadership Development:
- The Recorder, the school newspaper and journal of record
- WFCS The Edge, the on-campus radio station
- The Helix, a mixed-genre literary magazine
Whether you want to take pictures at events, review movies, write a short story, or DJ a radio show, there are endless ways to express yourself and get involved in media at Central.
The Media Board is the advisory body to all student-sponsored media, which may include advising on:
- Budgets
- Operations
- Office use
- Guest speakers
Student media at Central is unique in that student publications and student media shall be free of censorship and advance approval of copy. The board is made up of student leaders, faculty, and administrators who weigh in on topics related to media leadership.
